California/New York elite upset that abortions will now be illegal in states she will never even live in. More at 11.

I think the funniest it’s gotten is the virtue signalers announcing that they’ll be getting vasectomies now.

Just like all the LGBT-alphabet-soup bullshit, it's more pandering. It's the same reason Dick's Sporting Goods and game studios (Bethesda) are making statements on Roe v Wade. It has nothing to do with them or their products, yet they make these statements to appease a portion of their employees/customers.

4

u/alexaboyhowdy Jun 26 '22

If they"cared" it would have already been their policy.

It's virtue signaling now. Joining the bandwagon

A lot of athletes were really hoping abortions would continue on unrestricted in states they don’t live in.

5

u/GreatJanitor Proud Conservative Jun 25 '22

This was my first question. This reminds me of what I heard during when NFL kneeling was a big thing. When people complained about the politics in football and not wanting to hear about it, the Left shouted "You don't get to have your escapism because minorities don't get escapism from what they suffer every day.". So expect this everywhere. "You don't get your escapism from hearing about Roe v Wade because women don't get to escape it."

6

u/superduperm1 DeSantis 2024 Jun 26 '22

I mean… they can escape it by just not having sex, cautiously practicing safer sex or maybe just maybe living in a state or near a state where it’ll stay legal. Idk just a few suggestions. I don’t identify as a woman though nor am I a biologist so take it for what it’s worth.

3

u/alexaboyhowdy Jun 26 '22

In the 80's, I read a dear Abby column-

Dear Abby,. How will I know I'm ready to have sex?

Reader, when you and your partner can discuss what would happen should a pregnancy occur.

That's it.

I've seen so many posts in apolitical hobby-related subs claiming it's disrespectful to be discussing said hobby with what's going on right now. Like, you understand I come to this hobby sub just to occasionally get away from all the political bullshit for awhile, right? Why does politics have to infect every facet of our lives?

24

u/Flow390 Jun 25 '22

For these people, their political beliefs literally are their only defining personality characteristic and the only thing in life that makes them feel like they have any sort of “meaning”. Therefore, anything else they do must be infected with politics or else that hobby has no purpose anymore.

3

u/superduperm1 DeSantis 2024 Jun 26 '22 edited Jun 26 '22

The consequences of having to live with the risks and outcomes of your own decisions and actions if you don’t take proper precautions?

0

u/throwingspaghetti Jun 26 '22

I’m talking about lack of sufficient healthcare when your unborn child is slowly killing you and there’s nothing anyone will do for you. Or when you’ve miscarried and are about to bleed to death but the hospital won’t help you because of the laws your state passed. Or when you’ve been raped by your father and are now pregnant. How about when you can’t get pregnant and want to use methods such as in vitro fertilization and it’s now illegal? Does any of this mean anything to you

2

u/superduperm1 DeSantis 2024 Jun 26 '22

Literally no state forces you to birth if your unborn baby is killing you. Even Oklahoma allows an exception for that.

Please stop spreading misinformation. Thanks.

0

u/throwingspaghetti Jun 26 '22

I’m sorry but that’s just wrong. If there’s even a faint heartbeat but the child’s life is unsalvageable, there are some states where they won’t do a thing until it’s dead. And that could be too late. Plus all the other scenarios I mentioned too. I think conservatives are embarrassed and ashamed they got this done because they’re very quiet on the issue.

I dream of the day (that will never come) when both sides are represented at least somewhat equitably on channels like these. Like if an ESPN analyst on one of their shows publicly supported the SC ruling, they’d be immediately fired, cancelled, ostracized, shunned etc etc., yet everyone who’s against it and speaks out is considered brave and worthy of respect and celebration. It’s disgusting tbh.

11

u/badatusernames91 Millenial Conservative Jun 25 '22

I'd rather a sports channel just stay out of politics altogether. No one watches ESPN for political takes.

42

u/solarity52 Jun 25 '22

The real question is: why does ESPN have ANY reaction to a SC decision that is totally irrelevant to sports? Expressing an opinion on controversial non-sports matters has exactly one possible outcome - angry viewers who leave ESPN. I am certain that it does not attract any new eyeballs. I am far from a TV or marketing expert but the idiocy of this move seems so damn obvious.

We are going to find just how many children 3 Million a year for 10 years can actually support.
