Let's not forget to thank Christine Blasey Ford allowing the GOP to keep the majority in the senate.

I still can’t believe they brushed the cobwebs off that loon and trotted her out there to testify. Or, I guess I can.

Well….RBG surely wanted to be replaced by a woman. She sort of got what she wanted

Classic case of "be careful what you wish for".

Imagine if Garland made it to the bench and Clinton got elected in 2016. Can you imagine what kind of a shitshow we would be in?

The country as we know it wouldn't exist.

u/ISUCKCURRYDICK Jun 26 '22

Yeah i know right, women would still have control over their bodies. Makes me sick

16

u/throwaway3569387340 Reagan Republican Jun 26 '22

Unless you're experiencing immaculate conception, you do have control over your body.

4

u/Dasrulez Jun 26 '22

Even then, Mary had a choice, it’s not like being the Mother of God was forced upon her. “Let it be done according to thy word.”

Good point.

That's not what immaculate conception is.

Immaculate conception was not the creation of Jesus in Mary's womb. It was the fact that when Mary was born she did not have original sin. This allowed her womb to carry Jesus and therefore he could be born without sin.

And would be able to continue what very well may become the largest genocide in history.

-7

u/AVirtualDuck Jun 26 '22

This is a laughable comment. Comparing pre-viability abortion to genocide, especially large-scale genocides, is quite frankly deranged.

12

u/Belowaverage_Joe Jun 26 '22

It isn't, but even if it were, not all abortions are "pre-viability", thanks in large due to efforts by democrats to not only allow full term abortions, but to actually encourage more abortions.

I didn't know that killing another life has something to do with your own body.

She dedicated her life to killing "clumps of cells" in the end it was "clumps of cells" that killed her... Irony.

I said it before and il say it again, she might be the hottest justice ever.

Almost definitely. Though, admittedly, her competition isn't very vast or impressive.

90

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

The disrespect for Justice Thomas.

I mean, if I swung that way, sure, a young Thomas would probably be up there. Though as I see him, he'd be the kind of guy you want as your grandpa.

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:28, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you are not yourself married my brother, for such words are certainly inappropriate to be spoken, especially of a married woman.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '22

Oh I'm married lol and we often say to each other this person or that person is hot. It's a wonderful thing being comfortable enough in your marriage to be able to say oh yeah she's not without worrying about it. I of course wouldn't overdo it

-1

u/MerlynTrump Jun 26 '22

Who downvotes a scripture quote?

2

u/Jbullwinklethe2nd Jun 26 '22

It is the bullshit after the scripture that is getting the person downvoted.

I understand why a more senior justice authored the majority opinion but how glorious would it have been if she had authored it instead.

4

u/Ryuugyo Jun 26 '22

Out of the loop here. What's the connection between RBG, she and Roe v Wade?

16

u/AmbitiousCurler Jun 26 '22

Uninformed feminists think she had something to do with it so they have memes and shirts and shit for her.

The original decision was decided by men. This decision included three women in the mix.

Also, if she hadn't held out to be replaced by Clinton in 2017 and had retired in Obama's second term this might not have happened. So symbolism and virtue signalling are again a rake in the Democrats' face.

1

u/Madness970 Conservative Jun 26 '22

Which is the exact definition of allowing bias to influence judicial rulings, the very thing that SHOULD be grounds for automatic impeachment from the Supreme Court.

Should, but the left likes judicial activism.

The US is a common law country. It's part of the job of a judge to add to the body of law.

9

u/Belowaverage_Joe Jun 26 '22

Wow.... It literally isn't... But thank you for confirming you have no credibility in this thread.

Edit: creating brand new laws through judicial activism is NOT part of common law. Legislatures pass laws, the role of judges is to interpret THOSE laws with respect to the CONSTITUTION, not their personal agendas.

-4

u/AVirtualDuck Jun 26 '22

Do you know what the common law is? While Roe was quite a stretch in its reasoning, judges in general in the US (and UK among others) have some leeway in the interpretation of statutes and their application to the facts of the case and cases like it. Most law in the US pre-Constitution was solely common (judge-made) law, often citing English cases.

6

u/Belowaverage_Joe Jun 26 '22

"some leeway" is quite a generous characterization of the RvW decision. And that's exactly why it was correctly overturned, Just as many other decisions have been overturned due to being absolute garbage.

u/AFishNamedFreddie Persistent Conservative Jun 26 '22
