In honor of this man, Aitzaz Hasan Image

From his wiki:
On 6 January 2014, Aitzaz was outside the school gate of his Government High School, Ibrahimzai, in Hangu, with two other schoolmates. Aitzaz had not been allowed to attend the morning assembly due to his tardiness that day. One account states that around this time a 20-to-25-year-old man approached the gate and stated he was there to "take admission". One of the students noticed a detonator on the man's vest, whereupon Aitzaz's schoolmates ran inside, possibly to raise the alarm, while Aitzaz confronted the suicide bomber, who then detonated his vest.[9]
A normal tardy kid turned hero.

It is mentioned many a place that he Bear hugged the scum and would not let go.

u/sentimental_goat 7d ago
Something about this badass quote from his father tells me that the kid was brought up right:
"My son made his mother cry but saved hundreds of mothers from crying for their children."

This guy comes up regularly on Reddit - and rightfully so. At least no one complains about repost which Reddit has a tendency to do.

Almost like if reddit was a religion, he would be a patron Saint.

Unfortunately true. I may like Reddit a lot more than other social medias, but I can recognize that basing your beliefs and ideologies off it isn't good.

Normally I ignore reposts, but this was posted by a karma whore so it’s a little less forgivable.

I could never imagine losing a child, but also couldn't imagine being more proud if this were my child

u/Yupadej 7d ago
I wouldn't be proud, I would want him to run away and get back home.

u/Karjalan 7d ago
I agree. But of all the ways for you to lose a loved one.. Knowing it was to save other innocents is probably one of the best. (best feels wrong in this context, but you get what I mean)

u/CherryCherry5 7d ago
Ok, so I thought that a "chad" was a bad thing. But lately I've seen it used as the opposite. Could you please explain to me?
46
u/Karjalan 7d ago edited 7d ago
Chad simply means like "alpha male". It can be used in earnest (like here) or to deride someone (arrogant douche who calls themselves alpha, but are actually a basic bitch).
As usual, context matters.

u/Friendly_Bot_ 7d ago
It’s usually ‘incels’ that use “Chad” in a bad way. They use it to describe a douchbag that gets all the girls he wants. But the internet doesn’t like incels, so they decided to take chad and use it in a satirical way for a cool dude with big ballz, like our Gigachad here.

a chad is someone who has major respect from people and does good things that people very much approve on.

What a hero. The extreme bravery that would require to do, most people wouldn’t do that. But he did.

What a fine young man. Praised by his contemporary Mala Yousafzai, another example of a brilliant Pakistani youth. It's sad thinking about how much global conflicts are preventing brilliant young people like them from making their impact on the world.

u/KlutzyEditor7753 7d ago
The sad part is that U.S. media doesn't show stories like this, it's always "musim" and "arab" bombers, who are not even that. May he rest in peace

I can wrap my mind around a lot of things, but I truly cannot wrap my mind around these types of terrorists. Deliberately targeting a school is unfathomable enough, but sacrificing your own life to……kill a bunch of schoolkids? Why? The motives of WWII Japanese kamikaze pilots make sense in comparison.

u/gloomyrheumy 7d ago

I love how he is always brought up and each time, redditors show massive respect. Makes us all reflect individually on the ugly, bad, and good in the world - which I can't see as a bad thing. Hope we continue to be inspired for years to come. You are a hero, Aitzaz Hasan.

More like Clodor, as he must've yelled to his classmates in his last moments...."Close the (school) door".

There are better ways to honor this man than randomly colonizing words. This doesn't need all the pop up and flair to be noticed, it is heroic in itself.

u/tanaeolus 7d ago
I think you meant coloring* or colorizing* though the typo somehow still seems fitting.

He was just a boy. A boy who made such a selfless decision. He’d be a man now if he lived but he is forever a boy. Let’s not forget that please. Based on other things I read about him bear hugging the bomber, I wonder if he knew that his size and height would block most of the explosion.. If so, he did so knowing that his death would be his classmate’s and teacher’s salvation.
2
u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 7d ago
I like the way the post calls him a man.
He was 15 years old...but sacrificing yourself to save others is a manly thing to do alright.
If only we were all as much of a man as he was.
2
2
u/Antares777 7d ago
He’s just a boy. Not a man. The sacrifice he made is that much more tragic and meaningful, because of his young age.
2
u/notyourhomie33 7d ago
Ya know, this is one of the very few reposts that I don’t mind seeing over and over again on the front page.
It never fails to inspire me that this boy, only 15 years old, in the few short seconds he had in thinking, decided to be so brave and selfless.
What a legend.

Even though I don't live there or go to the school. Thank you for sacrificing your life for others. Because it's true that only a fraction of people can do it. And at least he died by being a hero. Rest in peace.

I forgot suicide bomber is just another job that anyone has, and is not religiously motivated at all. My next door neighbor, mr O'Brian is a suicide bomber on Mondays through Wednesdays. Thursday's and Fridays he's working part time in the local IED factory. And Mrs Patel down the street was a suicide bomber for 30 years before retiring. Totally forgot about that.
And the 1400 year long feud between Shiites and Sunnis never happened either. My bad.

This is beautiful unintentional art.
Some of the things I love:
the FB page format
the disgusting border and random coloured text style, highlighting nearly everything in the text, as if we wouldn't notice that "sacrificed his life" was important without it being bold and blue
the 7 levels of JPEG on the images they chose to use, one even having a god awful and disrespectful filter
the actual text they wrote, so devoid of actual content and developed from other shit they read
the fact it's from like a decade ago but they're talking about it like it happened yesterday
and finally, the 17 levels of JPEG that's happened to this image itself as it gets reposted around the internet, for it to now finally find itself reposted on some normie default sub, with enlightened Ledditors making wholesome comments about what a heckin' hero he is and jerking each other off about it
I wish you all could see past your heckin' wholesomeness and understand how fucking embarrassing circlejerks like this are. Some of this stuff puts 9gag to shame.

A lot of people say that they could sacrifice their lives for others, but in reality only a fraction of those people could actually do it.
