Switchfoot referenced Lil Brudder on one of their christmas songs.

Not a huge thing but I thought it was funny.

Was this before, during, or after their Jesusy period?

I haven’t kept up on Switchfoot.

Was there ever a time where they weren’t a Christian band?

Not really, no.

Huh. I have no idea where I got the idea that they pivoted into the mainstream market.

They're not really *that* Jesusy, and in the 00's they did obviously have a lot of mainstream popularity, but their stuff then and now still has the same sort of religious overtones.

They did sign to a major label and get mainstream play (“We Were Meant To Live”), but I don’t believe they stopped being a Christian band.
