No problem! It should go off without a hitch!

If I had awards, you would be getting one

6

u/Comprehensive_Gap40 Feb 05 '23

Fuck you, but, good shit. Got a chuckle out of me

It will work till you stop lol

29

u/Zadok47 Feb 04 '23

Easy peasy. Don't stop!

28

u/enrohtkcalb Feb 04 '23

Eh, even holding a constant velocity could lead to trouble. Best practice would be to keep accelerating.

19

u/Zadok47 Feb 04 '23

Or, only go up hill.

14

u/enrohtkcalb Feb 04 '23

Hey, do it long enough and you might meet god. Turn early and you still might meet god. That seems like a win-win to me.

u/NotSayinItWasAliens Feb 04 '23

The car will stop just fine!

2

u/CrazyGunnerr Feb 04 '23

I don't think that will be an issue. It seems that it won't be able to move back. I mean sure they will get even more damage, but it should stop.

6

u/-Elimakis- Feb 04 '23

Yeah it will stop when it crashes into the back of the car lol, there is nothing holding the trailer in place, just chains to pull it. That's what a trailer hitch is for lol

2

u/CrazyGunnerr Feb 04 '23

Just chains to pull it? Did you check the picture. Plenty of rods, including in a straight line. They will keep it from crashing in. Sure it will damage the car even further, but it won't make it crash in.

Also how can it hold it in place mid air, by just chains?

2

u/-Elimakis- Feb 04 '23

Yeah I'm sure those rods are secured very well to the trunk

2

u/CrazyGunnerr Feb 04 '23

It's a hot mess, but it will take the hit.

Just because they are complete idiots, doesn't mean what you said will happen.

6

u/egmalone Feb 04 '23

Be honest, is this a picture of your car

1

u/Rob_Rogers Feb 04 '23

Hit the release

1

u/Urgknot Feb 05 '23

Hahaha, they have used some type of rod or unistrut to brace the chain to keep it stiff. Looks like it'll do the job perfectly.

17

u/unresolved-madness Feb 04 '23

Once again we are shown that Home Depot is the most dangerous place in America

16

u/ositopapasito Feb 04 '23

We caught someone trying to steal ours one day and the cop that came out said thieves would steal a random car and then use the spare tire lock to chain boats and trailers to the car. Never underestimate how smart a meth head is..

16

u/KingCodyBill Feb 04 '23

Well it's not like they're going to be sleeping

8

u/OddExcuse2183 Feb 04 '23

They have lots of ever evolving ideas for theft very few for like having a marketable skill or taking care of their family.

17

u/FlipAround42 Feb 03 '23

Why is the trunk and back of my car sitting on the highway.

12

u/mustang6172 Feb 04 '23

If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

8

u/InjuryComfortable666 Feb 04 '23

That’s some advanced stupid right there.

8

u/FSUSeminalVesicle Feb 04 '23

I don't see a problem with it. That's clearly a DOT approved load-bearing stick.

6

u/Educational-Fig-2330 Feb 04 '23

Not to mention more (and bigger) safety chains than required by law. I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. Well, I mean other than the obscured license plate of course.

5

u/whateveryousay0121 Feb 04 '23

Hey, at least they used the chains ;)

5

u/belsaurn Feb 03 '23

Interesting way to connect a trailer.

4

u/Lazarus_Steel Feb 04 '23

Yeah bitch - SCIENCE !

4

u/Hey_u_ok Feb 04 '23

In their mind it totally calculates and will work. Trailer will just automatically stop when car stops.

Laws of motion don't apply to this genius.

4

u/Cephrael37 Feb 04 '23

What’s the load rating on that?

4

u/unitn_2457 Feb 04 '23

What ever doesn't rip the back end off.

4

u/Delicious_Match_9102 Feb 04 '23

All its missing is duct tape

6

u/KingCodyBill Feb 04 '23

Hey duct tape costs money, it has several mismatched pieces of rope

3

u/swimdad5 Feb 04 '23

Seems legit

3

u/SatansCouncil Feb 04 '23

Looks Class 3 to me!

3

u/Crash-N-Byrne Feb 04 '23

Trial & error built this Nation!

3

u/KingCodyBill Feb 04 '23

That appears to have quite of bit of error built in

3

u/Ohgetserious Feb 04 '23

Seems perfect for towing things on the streets of San Francisco.

3

u/gna149 Feb 04 '23

I'm reminded of a video showing the aftermath after a guy's chain snaps off his truck and the hook went through his face

3

u/dancemusicman Feb 04 '23

What’s theGVWR on this? Lol

3

u/Business-Animator-91 Feb 04 '23

Got safety chains attached to the trailer, what could go wrong?

6

u/castzpg Feb 04 '23

Real men of genius.

5

u/sniper_matt Feb 04 '23

Crazy idea here : trade “that guy who can weld” a case of beer for a trailer hitch.

Will work the exact, same look half as sketchy, and probably still break like they want it to.

2

u/Standswfist Feb 04 '23

Seriously?! OMG!

2

u/SmilinAndy Feb 04 '23

I wonder if r/strapitup would make an exception to allow to allow chains for this one. 🤔

3

u/VT_Lifer Feb 04 '23

That goes beyond redneck engineering. That's 'way-back-in-the-hills' hillbilly engineering!

2

u/SkYwAlKeR973019 Feb 04 '23

nothing a bit of elbow grease and real deal 'murican redneck engineering cant solve

Shameless Season 12
