They just needed to commit and drive over the berm. They drove onto it later when the turned back onto the road. Clearing it in the first place would have been easy.

If you are going to drive like a dumbass, own it and commit fully. Then they don’t end up blocking traffic and inconveniencing everyone. Must be a suburban pickup owner who likes how it looks but has no clue how to drive.

20

u/evantimothy Sep 30 '23

Exactly. They went at it so slowly, it was almost like they were going to block traffic intentionally

u/addamee Oct 01 '23

… even if the berm scuffs your truck nuts

1

u/probably_odd Oct 01 '23

The way the truck is lifted, it’s driver has no idea what a dirt road is and that truck will never see one…unless someone takes it “muddin”

Tried to make left and didn't see the median until they hit it?

9

u/evantimothy Sep 30 '23

This is a turn out that is almost only used by locals (lots of outlets from the center). Chances are, this is not the first time they’ve used the exit.

19

u/RyanGreenOnMyCock Sep 30 '23

I mean, do locals do this a lot? Otherwise, it makes a lot more sense to me that this was someone using it for the first time.

Do you really think that theyve done this before in the past and decided to do it again? Like, yeah turning out and blocking traffic so I can reverse and correct was a lot of fun, cant wait to do that again next time

Or the other option if they've done this in the past and made it over successfully, which would mean theres no reason they wouldnt just do that again here. Still pointing towards this being their first time

There’s always a chance, but this corner is almost out of the way to exit out of. They could have been lost. Obviously from the slow pull out, they were disoriented. If you were that stupid to slowly bump into a curb and block traffic, then back up a slowly only to run over the same curb you didn’t maneuver correctly the first time, something’s not right.

u/RyanGreenOnMyCock Sep 30 '23

There’s always a chance, but this corner is almost out of the way to exit out of.

Thats kind of my point.

You think they knew how to get to this, out of the way secret corner exit - and then did this?

Like, if they had done it before and this wasnt their first time - what the hell happened that caused them to do this?

Literally the only logical thing I can think of is that they havent used it before and didnt know that you couldnt turn left due to the median. Or maybe theyve used it before but only when they needed to go right? And just kind of auto piloted needing to go left, but I still feel like youd at least know the barrier was there from turning right previously

u/evantimothy Sep 30 '23

From where a typical shopper would pull out, there are probably about 10 other clearly marked exits that they would likely go out of. It was a pretty beat up truck as you could see by the crush in the tailgate. Could have been a lost teenager or something.

8

u/RyanGreenOnMyCock Sep 30 '23

I mean yeah, all that makes sense. But if they were lost it would still more than likely be their first time.

#Jackeduptruckdrivers It's no excuse because they should have seen it driving up but you literally can not see the ground in front in front of that truck for almost 40'. My standard height which is short by new truck standards is about 25'.

1

u/MaxHamburgerrestaur Oct 01 '23

I guess they saw their GPS showing a path to the left and didn't notice the path was to the right and then to the left.

u/blazze_eternal Sep 30 '23

They're apparently scared to take their lifted truck over a six inch curb...

16

u/QuesoFresco420 Oct 01 '23

With all the money they spent on suspension upgrades, they could have had a suspension that allowed them to take that thing off jumps and stuff. I see trucks like this all the time with heavily modified suspension that don’t even drive over the speed bumps in the grocery store parking lot. What’s the point?

10

u/GuidoZ Oct 01 '23

“Look how big my pee-pee is!”

2

u/Demented-Turtle Oct 01 '23

Come in, you joke but we all know that penis size is directly proportional to ground clearance

2

u/Cabagekiller Oct 01 '23

That’s accurate. I have a really low car. Lol

3

u/sambo1023 Oct 01 '23

Sounds like the average city truck driver

10

u/Challenge-Upstairs Oct 01 '23

Not much.

3

u/capitan_dipshit Oct 01 '23

I'd guess either too much alcohol or too little oxygen

9

u/Particular-Sundae-85 Oct 01 '23

gotta love that turning radius on a big truck

5

u/sakzeroone Oct 01 '23

If you would have made a proper right turn this wouldn't have been an issue for you

6

u/poindexter5221 Sep 30 '23

The same thing that goes through any rational 10-year-old's mind: Shit! I don't know how to drive!

3

u/RedEd024 Oct 01 '23

Day drinking

3

u/knox902 Oct 01 '23

Anyone that lifts that much and outs wheel spacers like that on are not thinking.

2

u/b-rad420 Oct 01 '23

Probably someone new to a big 4x4, thought they were going to roll over the median like a speed bump.

2

u/Consider2SidesPeace Oct 01 '23

Looks like a case of a phuck em up truck assuming no median. Changing their mind. Then turning long because their vehicle has zero turning radius.

Be kind, they bought the damn thing...

Unrelated: why does that double yellow line end at the curb? Is it normal in US?

1

u/evantimothy Oct 01 '23

This area is in north Phoenix with a high growth rate. This road was built wide enough to be 3 lanes, but is currently only 2. I’m not sure why they do it that why but they will eventually widen the road to 3 as the population in the area reaches the right amount, and the double yellow will be removed.

1

u/MaxHamburgerrestaur Oct 02 '23

Oh, I see. People are not supposed to drive on left of the double yellow line.

3

u/ChessiePique Oct 01 '23

Mind? What mind?

2

u/PossiblyMD Oct 01 '23

Bold of you to assume that they have a mind.

1

u/Ronin__Ronan Oct 01 '23

you see the lift kit...what mind?

-1

u/appa-ate-momo Oct 01 '23

Petition to ban phone videos of screens showing the actual video.

0

u/NoMansSkyWasAlright Sep 30 '23

My guess is it was their first time trying to hop a curb and they'd assumed they hit something when it didn't clear. So they panicked and then tried to back up so they could get somewhere to "assess the damage".

0

u/scriptfoo Oct 01 '23

He probably has a four-wheel drive option he's never enabled before. Just leaves that pavement princess in two-wheel drive and goes reeeaaal slow over speed bumps.

-9

u/Thiscatmcnern Sep 30 '23

If you stayed in the right lane like you should have you could have gone around.

Person didn’t see the raised curb and thought he could turn there. Surprising since his truck towers over all the other cars.

4

u/evantimothy Sep 30 '23

I would have, but the way he (or she) was driving, I would have probably gotten t boned when they put it in reverse to correct the situation. Plus I was planning on pulling a u-turn about 100 feet up so I needed to be in the left lane.

-7

u/Thiscatmcnern Sep 30 '23

Correct course of action is to enter right lane, turn on left blinker, check lane, then change to left.

6

u/evantimothy Sep 30 '23

Corrector course of action was to hit the record button and see what transpired 😂

2

u/QuesoFresco420 Oct 01 '23

That yahoo in that truck probably can’t even see the cars below them. Plus, they’re way more focused on fixing their situation than the people that they are affecting. I wouldn’t put myself in a situation like that.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '23

You're getting down voted by people that disregard the laws and lack driving etiquette.

3

u/Thiscatmcnern Oct 01 '23

Correct, I’m doing a personal study on this sub. Turns out its one of the lowest IQ subs in Reddit.

0

u/QuesoFresco420 Oct 01 '23

They’re probably just happy that they inconvenienced two hybrids.

1

u/urbanskyline09 Oct 01 '23

Maybe cocaine?

1

u/Fr0gFish Oct 01 '23

I am convinced that those stupid trucks make people even worse drivers.

1

u/nottheotherone4 Oct 01 '23

Did they drop their beer? Couldn’t get both hands free to turn the wheel because they were on an important phone call?

1

u/Broad-Air-9218 Oct 01 '23

How to last more than 2 seconds in bed. This was going on in their mind.

1

u/rube-zilla Oct 01 '23

I think maybe vodka.

1

u/lamesthejames Oct 01 '23

By the looks of their truck, not a lot

1

u/freshxdough Oct 01 '23

I love how they never back up far enough too…

1

u/TriumphDaWonderPooch Oct 01 '23

Some pretty wild drugs are going through that mind.

1

u/Alex_Bell_G Oct 01 '23

The bigger the truck is the smaller your dick is and that is proportional to your brain. Hence, the drama 🎭

1

u/RedBaron180 Oct 02 '23

How to download dashCam videos to YouTube ?

1

u/Detman102 Oct 02 '23

Gotta be a chick driving that truck...lol. I mean, 2 feet of ground clearance and you don't have the balls to hop a little curb or even turn the wheel hard?

1

u/jaezif Oct 02 '23

Mostly a cool breeze I'd wager...
