I think Steam's algorithm is drunk Meta

The algorithm is based on generic tags.

Adventure and Action and other big genre tags tend to be a tag with wide variety across those genres for example but sharing the same tag means they may be suggested together. As well as the fact they are user tags so games can often be tagged with joke tags as well.

In the case of Chorus and HZD they at least are both tagged with adventure, open world, female protagonist, sci-fi and probably other shared tags.

TBH though comparing chorus and hzd doesnt even seem that bad a comparison to me.

I could easily see why people who like one might like the other and its not a weird improper tag based one or totally different game style.
