What type of restaurant, mom and pop shop or chain, the demographic. I feel you may been lucky, knew the owners?

Worked in austin texas, i didnt work chains but they werent really mom and pop either..somewhere in the middle i guess. I know people still waiting there and they are bringing in 250-350 on thurs-sat working 8 hour shifts..hell bartending is where the money really was though. 400-600 a night working 6th street.

Holy shit. I find it crazy that it could be so different between states, sounds like a solid company you were at. When we were in Australia the first evening dining out we tipped and seemed like an insult as if we thought they needed it. After that a sincere thank went further, this may sound silly now but we left a piece of the entree on a cleaned up plate for thanks to the chef.

Yeah ive only worked in texas doing service industry..totally different career now. I love what you did for the chefs..sweet but kinda hilarious
