Of course she felt remorse, why else would you have a whole letter pre typed and ready to go.

5

u/JediWarrior79 Jan 27 '22

Yeah, I don't get how that happens. You're the one who sexually assaults the person, and you're the one who had PTSD?? Also, she said she knew full well that that the room mate already had a history with being sexually abused, so she also goes and assaults them??? 🤯🤯

Holy fucking shit.

"I suffer from PTSD because of the trauma that I caused someone else."

"Usually I find consent important. Guess I just forgot about it this time. Oopsies. I'll try to do better."

The constant stressing and re-stressing that the partner has been abused in the past (a completely unnecessary and personal detail which is extremely uncool to publicly mention without the other person's consent) which seems to serve the purpose of downplaying their actions, as if someone else without a traumatic past mightve been fine with all this.

The fucking "I detest callout culture so I won't be naming this person here" remark, as if the partner comes off as the bad guy here somehow? This is an apology and confession post, right? Anonymity was the right choice but for very very different reasons than the one given.

This is a deeply toxic person abusing leftist vocabulary as a shield.

4

u/Catboxaoi Jan 27 '22 edited Jan 28 '22

You gotta avoid the transphobia ban by saying it as it is: She sexually abused a sleeping woman by putting that sleeping woman's hand on her cock. Her veiny, throbbing-at-the-idea-of-molesting-this-sleeping-woman feminine cock, which she says she had to force the woman to touch because, and I quote her directly, "I was half-asleep and was not in full control of my actions". A very justifiable reason to make an unconscious woman touch her as-feminine-as-she-wants-it cock, penis, wiener, or whatever nouns and pronouns her penis require.

3

u/Gl3is0894z Communist Jan 27 '22

fucking thank you the post keep getting deleted before i can look

3

u/skepticallytruthful Jan 27 '22

It's not transphobia, but the fact that trans people defend this behaviour is transphilia; the other side of a terrible coin.

I have been angry and was never able to put it in words until now, but finally I can, and it will get lost in here, but at least I let it out.

Down with transphobia and transphilia.

Antiwork started as a anarcho-communist sub, but has expanded into a more generic workers rights, socialism-curious sub. I think many members feel it’s been sold out or diluted from the original founder’s intent. But now there’s a decision to be made, revert to their roots, or embrace the bigger tent this sub has become.

110

u/Beneficial_Let_6079 Jan 27 '22

Lefty pipeline sub>purity testing.

25

u/TEDDYKnighty Jan 27 '22 edited Jan 27 '22

I liked it being the lefty pipeline. It was serving a good purpose to naturally show people leftism is a good thing. You can’t just spew theory at the average person and expect them to immediately accept it. But unfortunately here we are again. A story as old as the left, the most extreme and stupid of the bunch hijack the movement just when it’s gaining steam because their feelings were hurt that their preferred theory wasn’t front and centre. I love the left, I’d die for the left. I despise the left sometimes thou. The left is its own worst enemy.

19

u/Beneficial_Let_6079 Jan 27 '22

As hilariously bad as that spot was for PR we still need to keep things in perspective here. A fringe lefty sub blew up into a mainstream talking point and got platformed on Fox News of all places.

As bad is this snafu was it’s all the more reason to put out some good content on here. I hope every Fox News viewer comes here to laugh at dog walkers and accidentally stumbles into a rabbit hole that speaks to their material conditions.

4

u/TEDDYKnighty Jan 27 '22

I think it’s morphed into something else now. The mods aren’t trustworthy anymore. How can we trust this to be a good pipeline if those at the top are only in it for themselves? Need a new mod team, this sub is good but the mods are idiots lol

→ More replies

8

u/rocketlauncher2 Jan 27 '22

The mods weren't explicit about this because they wanted to piggyback on the movement to get their voice out. That's why she ended up on Fox News. This sub grew because people thought it was a general workplace reform movement sub, not an anarchy sub, and they stay quiet because they know if they get more people they can spread their fucking ideas.

6

u/Hawkwise83 Jan 27 '22

We're more likely to affect change working together. Even if it's diluted from the original cause. Better to get some of your wants than none.

50

u/disembodiedbrain Jan 27 '22

Or... just try to educate people about what anarchism is? Via the sub.

75

u/Foxodroid Communist Jan 27 '22

Yea, for a bunch of people calling themselves a "movement" there sure is a complete lack of organisation and planning. Not even a reading circle or some shit.

Mods sure love giving themselves the authority to talk to the media but not the work of organising reading circles for socialist literature, education about the legal rights of workers, unions, tactics etc.

Education that could further radicalise and assist workers.

Even then, if it doesn't have presence on the streets I wouldn't call it a movement.

9

u/birdboix Jan 27 '22

Mods sure love giving themselves the authority to talk to the media but not the work of organising reading circles for socialist literature, education about the legal rights of workers, unions, tactics etc.

I see the problem inherent in their desired goals

16

u/ThewFflegyy Jan 27 '22

for a bunch of people calling themselves a "movement" there sure is a complete lack of organisation and planning

yeah, the hard truth is movements need leadership of some variety. it doesn't need to be a single person but there does need to be a transparent nexus of information and power to keep the movement on the right track. otherwise you end up in a situation like this sub is currently in.

Mods sure love giving themselves the authority

this is just hilariously ironic. how could an anarchists be so ok with exerting their authority over so many people? makes me think she couldn't find time in her chronic unemployment to read any theory.

7

u/ThePrussianGrippe Jan 27 '22

At the very fucking least they need to understand optics.

21

u/Foxodroid Communist Jan 27 '22

how could an anarchists be so ok with exerting their authority over so many people?

It's SO weird. I'd give them a lot more grace if it wasn't for the secret interviews thing. I don't really care you're 21, freaking Fred Hampton was 21 when he was assassinated. I care that you have some consistency and principle.

They haven't moderated - that's the point.

If the mods had been moderating, the million plus people who came here to complain about their boss and their salary (and who turned out to be anti-anarchist, pro-work and anti-trans in disturbingly large ratios) would not have taken over. The few thousand people that made up the body of this sub 2 years ago were completely drowned out by the million people who have arrived in the last 60 days.

The number of times I've seen people complaining about the interview mischaracterizing the group as "not wanting to work" or being annoyed when someone told them to read the sidebar is galling as fuck.

Antiwork means antiwork.

Not reform, abolishment.

How is someone long-term unemployed at 21? Does that just mean 'living off parents?' Go ahead, tee it up for them.

There is a truth that with improved and increased technology humans should have to produce less through physical work. The increased profits from those automations should be redistributed and reinvested in people so ultimately there is more leisure time for all of us.

This 'movement' as it will mockingly be called from now on, needs someone that can intelligently talk about how antiwork is a plausible theory based on the trajectory of humanity and the injustice of dividing us into workers and rulers.

I'm a 44 year old Gen X delivery driver. I fell in love with this subreddit right off the bat. I'm not the least surprised at what has transpired over the past couple days.

I'd love to step up to the task of being an experienced American worker who has watched the corporate world defacate on the middle class all his life. But even I don't think I'm up to the task. Let alone a 21 year old. Even if he had worked retail since he was 15.

The reality is, the human mind does not fully develop until you're almost 30. So middle age is honestly the best option. Unless some miracle kid comes along that just blows us away.

Anarchism doesn't mean "no rules", it means "no rulers". Over a century of propaganda doesn't change that

16

u/PigeonsArePopular Jan 27 '22

What do you call someone who tries to apply rules to you

I don’t deny the mods made a terrible move. But neither can it be denied that many of the users on here now are not lamenting what happened - they are adding to the dumpster fire. They are more interested in drama than what the sub was about

10

u/sad_boi_jazz Jan 27 '22

Yeah, I see that. Popcorn chomping is a helluva drug eh

3

u/Rezenbekk Jan 27 '22

I'm definitely okay with the separation, it would've had to happen at some point because the original purpose of the sub is not what I and a lot of others can even remotely agree with. Shame it didn't happen under different, not "damage the whole fucking labour movement" circumstances.

Nothing wrong with it, but it sure as hell was cringe seeing someone say it on national TV

a college education isn't necessary to read a few books.

How can someone be long term unemployed and 21? What if someone was going to college? Ah, he should be going to school and working 2 full time jobs; to be in debt to the system. The slave mentality amazes me. Are unemployed people the problem? I thought that was called self employed; not every company is profitable or well run.

32

u/ThewFflegyy Jan 27 '22

its fine to be unemployed, but dont pretend to be a spokesperson for the overworked and underpaid if you've never worked a day in your life.

If you wanna speak for a bunch of people who are sick of getting crushed by the man you should probably have a solid real life foundation of being crushed by the man, not a theoretical one.

30

u/birdboix Jan 27 '22

If someone's entire lifestyle is dependent on Bank of Mom then it's not really something that can be replicated on a macro scale innit

It depends, is this guy eating out of dumpsters and camping in the woods? Or is he living with his parents, eating their food? If you live off someone else's work, you're the problem, not the solution.

I love how “I’ve read some stuff lately” is his idea of a credential to be taken seriously. That’s literally a line from the college hippy in South Park.

how in the world a 21yo has a long story of unemployment?😂

7

u/Aschriel Jan 27 '22

This sub had 1.7 million members. Many of them lost their jobs in 2020 - 2021 (myself included). Those people really suffer, and turned to the one place they could get support (social media). These people and those of similar struggle would make good spokespersons, and great mods.

Selecting a mod that did not have a related employment issue, no prior experience that brought them to this sub, is just not a good idea. Trust me, we don’t have a shortage of people that could fill that role.

Most of us learned these harsh realities first and then landed here…

Start by making a change. Start by screening mods to ensure they know the subject matter to which they claim membership…

u/Jemmo1 Jan 27 '22

Man i want to become a mod of the Star Trek subreddit soooo bad, why i qualify? i fucking love Yoda, he was such a badass in Mordor!

2

u/Rascal0302 Jan 27 '22

This would’ve been a great idea before, but it’s a bit too late now. The sub’s credibility is done.

Maybe next time.

I’m sorry but I don’t think you should consider a 21 year old “long-term unemployed” despite the government’s definition of “long-term unemployment”. But don’t let me interrupt the anti-r/antiwork circle jerk. Mods can be useless twat-waffles but the game ain’t changed, do the least you can get away with for the most amount of money.

How did transgender rights become the main point of anti work? I am indifferent to the issue.

14

u/omguserius Jan 27 '22

Because its an easy way for a trans person to deflect any criticism, justified or not.

Now, everyone who is angry is an istophobe.

Also mod: i need to shutdown the sub to regain control

An-caps aren’t anarchists. Businesses stomping on your neck is as bad as the government doing it. Capitalism is inherently hierarchical.

2

u/flygirl218 Jan 27 '22

Absolutely, rape of any kind should never be hushed! Regardless of gender. Nor should anyone follow a such a person (mod) that practices that kind of evil behavior on mankind.

2

u/noclipgate Jan 27 '22

Looks like a meme from a PR source. 1) slandering the unemployed --- being unemployed does NOT mean you cannot stand up for the working class 2) bringing up anarchism as if it's a bad thing to be. Y'all are so divided now that you follow these types of posts like good blind sheep.
