That's exactly my point. I lurk mostly and I've seen a METRIC FUCK TON of highly intelligent people on this sub that would of put the Fox News fucktard in his place and accurately describe what's this sub is all about. Taking back the means of production and getting the bourgeois class and the ruling class to get fucked. I want to work but I want my labor to be accurately paid so I can support a family on one income if I want. I want to thrive not survive.

Oh I know. Being a Reddit mod and thinking it means you're important already means you aren't well and fox knew that.

u/Massive_Collection32 Jan 27 '22
Fox News was licking their fucking chops like a pack of hungry lions, when they got the news that a Reddit mod, one from r/antiwork no less, wanted to come on and engage with them.
Seriously, I'm about to report this mod to the POLICE for openly admitting to a pattern of sexually assaulting someone.
131
u/ExceedinglyGayRoach mostly here to laugh. lol. lmao Jan 27 '22
And she got handed an EASY interview too, given endless softballs to get the interview started and fumbled it like a fucking Little Leaguer. I hate to imagine the bloodbath it would've been if they gave her someone especially slimey and dishonest like Tucker Carlson.

u/Coolwinner05 Jan 27 '22
When I heard about the interview being a mess, I initially thought the questions were tough.
Then I got to watch the video and boy, oh boy! It was questions you would expect from someone being interested in the movement and wanting to know more. Nothing more and she couldn't even answer in a proper way.
Not sure what she thought before going on the interview. If it were me, I would've prepared answers for all imaginable questions.
It was a fucking mess.

Yes Fox News did their research and hand selected this person for this reason so they could lambaste them during the interview.
They didn’t just blindly approach the subreddit and ask to talk to “someone”
As much as I hate Fox News and their agenda I have to give them credit that this was executed perfectly and the result is exactly what they were aiming for.
→ More replies5
u/CoveredInMetalDust Jan 27 '22
I wouldn't give them too much credit--this is hardly a new tactic for modern news media. News outlets did the exact same thing to the Occupy movement ten plus years ago, and wouldn't you know it worked. Fox probably just copied someone's homework.

If I believed this subreddit was as influential as some posters seem to think it is, I would almost believe this was an op. It's that friggin bad.
11
u/margueritedeville Jan 27 '22
It really does stink to high heaven of one.
10
u/kithlan Jan 27 '22
Only reason I believe it's just sheer incompetence and ego is because as it's been mentioned, this subreddit was taken over by the Great Resignation movement, not in any way an influence on it. Regular people fed up with employer bullshit just happened to find a poorly named subreddit that seemed close enough to what they were venting about.
After all, the community just seemed to have realized the mods are AnComs that apparently believe in the abolition of work/labor entirely? (Usually AnComs are just against wage labour/wage slavery, from what I'm aware of).

Genuinely yes. This is why I hated liberals for so long. The majority of the ones I had met acted exactly like this. Then I met normal liberals and realized that we all want the same thing. We just have a few things we disagree on. However the majority of things conservatives and liberals agree on.

So much is confusing about this story.
Like, were they in a relationship that went cold but they still had to live together?
Why were these two sleeping in the same quarters if one of them was uncomfortable? Was this in a dorm or barrack? Why was the situation prolonged such that they were able to “get help through therapy?” If they were setting alarms to keep from touching happening, wasn’t that the time to physically separate?
I’m just not able to wrap my head around the situation.

Sounds like they moved in together, the partner was already traumatized, and then the mod continued to traumatize them bc her needs weren't met.

Don't forget the, "I realized my wrongs and immediately paid for my own therapy." Closely followed by, "We talked about me helping to pay for their therapy, someone I know to have past trauma around this very issue, but ultimately decided I couldn't contribute bc you know, my economic status."

Idc even if they made major contributions to a charity, it doesn't change the feel bad for me mentality and the lack of remorse for the victim. 59
u/Beaugardes182 Jan 27 '22
I brought a similar point up in another thread and someone pointed that it was more likely that Doreen was offering to pay for the victims therapy, but that wasn't necessary due to the victim having adequate insurance, and to Doreen not being able to afford the costs. I think that is more likely, surely she couldn't be so vile as to ask her own victim to pay for her therapy.

there is no reason too write this down, in case you got publicly called out for rape, this is just more proof your a rapist. any explination/apology would be in the moment, and you would move to seek guaidence to aid in the issues you have. Seek a god damn theripist, not a fucking internet group saying your good. the only people who'd say your good are rapist, only to making the situation worst. your plea of "do not critisim" only makes this more aperent that your looking for other rapists to join in.

It takes literally YEARS of therapy, self-reflection, and tbh oversharing with potential new friends/partners to get over that kind of manipulative behavior, too.
When I was in my early twenties, I would threaten to kill myself to avoid accountability - sometimes for some really silly/minimal shit.
I'm much older now and I've been in therapy for 15-20 years and those impulses STILL happen.
I've just learned to tell my brain to shut the fuck up and not be a manipulative piece of shit. I also feel it necessary to tell friends/potential partners of my past toxic behavior.

No, this isn't the person they sent. This is the person that Fox News choose to talk to. It obvious that Fox wants to have on a 21 year old, unemployed internet mod with no media training to interview. They wanted someone easy to discredit and to paint everyone involved in a negative light. The media wants to destroy any type of movement for workers rights and letting them choose who represents us is of course going to have them choose the worst type of person to deliver the message. Should they not be a mod here, probably not, but digging up more dirt and complaining about it is just doing the work of capital to stop any change from actually happening.

When you look up 'tmi' or 'oversharing' this should be the first thing that pops up.

And this person was NEVER vetted or questioned before they were allowed to be a mod or go on Fox News?
Wow, r/antiwork . You ALL absolutely need to resign or close this sub entirely. Get out of here.

I read somewhere on work reform (someone please find it for me) that they were offered someone to prompt them and prepare them and they simply flat out declined saying they’d handle it

From what I’ve seen posted it looks like this individual went rogue from the other mods’ decision NOT to do interviews.
It kinda makes me wonder if there was a financial incentive to this interview & the content of what was said to control the “public’s” aka FoxNews-viewers narrative of the worker movement brewing in society today.

“Symptoms of PTSD” Go fuck yourself Doreen. As an assault survivor who has been dealing with C-PTSD for years fuck right off into a pit of spikes. You don’t get sympathy for your fee-fees when you rape people. And you don’t get to claim to take consent seriously either. You’re a wolf in sheep’s clothing claiming to be an ally while preying on people. Fuck you Doreen.

There are two possibilities with this damn fox interview
The mods are morons/incredibly naive. They thought they could outsmart the Fox squad or that Fox would be fair in their interviewing process. But anyone with more than three brain cells knows that Fox is going to slant the interview as much as possible.
They were being intentionally malicious. They were bought and paid for to go on fox and tank an interview in an attempt to stop this movement in its tracks. I don’t want to think this, but it’s also hard to believe that any rational person would have gone to that interview
Regardless of what it is, the mods here are a joke, which means this sub is a joke.

Man this is not gonna look good when someone from Fox News gets this screen grab and brings it up. Hell I bet Carlson brings on Watters and talks about all the drama that has happened on here.
