If you really want to nitpick the guy who's trying to help you, you could fix their apostrophe:

Im I'm sure your English is better than my whatever

They didn't know what your primary language was. If they did, they could have said:

Im I'm sure your English is better than my whatever Spanish

So "my whatever" was just a placeholder.

I guess I can see how you misread, though. Maybe you thought they meant:

I'm sure your English is better than my mine. Whatever.

But I don't think that's what they meant. The phrase above ("your [your second language] is better than my [your first language]") is a common phrase of encouragement to multilingual people.
