Why does OP have all that white paper on his dash causing reflections that diffuse his view?

Its not the tree thats rude. Its the car. Without any shame it sodomizes the fallen tree. The poor thing was already dead, no need to do this to it.

Did you see what the tree was wearing? It was asking for it

That windscreen reflection though!! For safety you should remove those distractions, you don’t need all that stuff up on the dashboard.

Brake lights came on. They saw the tree.

If it hadn’t have been wet and they’d braked more aggressively they would have be rear ended by the cammer. I think they hit the tree knowing they were going to hit the tree but it was better than being punted up the jaxy by the idiot following to closely in the wet…

I’m assuming this is Northern California

I’m fairly certain it’s Germany. Plates look to be long like German plates and the paper in the dashboard mentions “K Town” which is the nickname for Kaiserslautern, a major town in Germany where there are several bases.

Germany doesn't use yellow middle lines. Yellow lines are "temporary" lines used when the traffic flow has changed due to ongoing construction.

I don't think that would of helped the tree fall any sooner or later

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

I agree. Then the tree would have seen the vehicle and not fallen directly on it. Good call, pointing that out!

Yikes! I think they got the best possible outcome though.
Edit: If they had to get hit, I mean.
