Does the president of MSF have to be a Doctor of Medicine?
Hello! I've always been in awe of MSF and their values, every since I saw Living in Emergency as a 16 year old. It inspired me to enter into the world of global health and epidemiology. After 12 years of nursing the dream of one day going on a mission with them, I'm now confident that I have a profile strong-enough to finally submit my application.
From what I've read, MSF has one of the best cultures in the world: dedicated to human rights and providing care to those who need it most. I want to work to head one of their national offices, even the international office, so I could do my best to uphold the values of the organization and make sure that they never change.
The thing is, I'm not an MD, and I noticed that all past presidents of MSF have been MDs. Is this a requirement for the position? Do you think that if I work hard I could become the MSF president with a PhD in Global Health?

Does Foreign Travel Make You a Better Doctor?
I did two missions with MSF many years ago and I think it completely changed how I practice and live my life. Does anybody else feel that way? I wrote an essay about working in South Sudan.

Emergency Doctor posting
Hi all,
I am current a senior emergency registrar in Australia and have been looking to apply with MSF in the not too distant future.
From what I could see on the website MSF are taking Emergency Specialists, which I take to mean consultants, and if you haven't completed specialist training will be taken on as a 'medical doctor's.
I'm just trying to get a feel on what kind of potential roles I would be eligible for.
Any advice around this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Hybrid Work Expectations
Hi everyone, I am thinking about applying for a position with MSF that would be in one of their US office. I read that they have an expectation of Two days in office every week and was just wondering if this was a hard line. I’ve been debating about applying only due to this. Currently none of their offices are committed to where I currently reside, in the salary they have if I were to live in those cities would not be enough. Thank you for all your insights

Humanitarian Affairs Officer
Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing really well! I am highly interested in applying for the Humanitarian Affairs Officer position with MSF Canada and was wondering if anyone had any insight into what they consider to be an ideal candidate and whether having personal/lived experience (coupled with strong qualitative research experience involving refugees) could overcome my lack of in-field experience. Thank you so much in advance!

Much weight to DELF on a CV?
I've been studying French and am at an A2 level now. I know the application has a section asking about language proficiency, but would an official certification (DELF) added to my CV make enough of a difference to warrant the cost of the exam ($100), do you think? Especially when it's not at B2 like MSF looks for. I'm American and targeting the health promotion (activity manager) role. Thanks!

What to send with Family member about to start their first MSF position
My parent will be starting as a physician real soon and got their first assignment. They will have low internet access and all the stuff like that. What is a low space thing that you feel was really beneficial to you while you where away? I'm thinking a hard drive with media, but was there anything else that you would have liked/had that would be good to send with?

MSF interview in 2 weeks, what should I expect?
Hey everyone I'm a paeds nurse from Australia who is currently working in the middle East. I've just been invited to attend an interview with MSF and love to hear from all of you who has had experience with MSF about the best way to prepare for the interview.
I understand that as a field nurse your main role is to manage, teach and supervise, with limited hands on patient care, so I'm assuming the interview will focus more on your management experience? My background includes general Pediatrics, PICU and Peds long term ventilation care (current), I wonder if they would question my technical skills and knowledge in depth on each area or with a particular focus?
Also the interview is 2hrs long, it kind of occurs to me that it will turn to more of a chat and get to know you after all the essential questions are asked then to be asked formal interview questions for 2hr long?
Thz everyone! I look forward to joining MSF!

West African doctor looking to join MSF
Hello, I’m a doctor in a West African country, and I want to join MSF in the field. The problem is that there seems to be no way for doctors from my country to apply at all. I filled in my location on the MSF website and was given a link to apply through MSF in Senegal, but the MSF Senegal office appears to be defunct and even the online application form fails to load. There’s also no email address on the website for me to send enquiries to. Is there anyone who has faced this sort of problem? And how do I get around it?

Hello,
How can one go about getting a job as a HR Coordinator or HR Administrator at Doctor Without Borders? What are the relevant skills required? I have 4 years of work experience in the field of HR + Business Development/Partnerships in the social development sector which has allowed me to do a lot of ground work too.
Please recommend.
Thank you
