That is a deep squat for any clothes let alone a suit. My buddy ripped the ass of his suit pants squatting far less than this.

Russians like to squat on corners of the street while smoking cigarettes and drinking vodka. At least the meme version do.

32

u/Inevitable_Physics 13d ago

Only so that they have less momentum when the fall to the ground in a drunken stupor. It is simple physics.

69

u/MentallyRetardSloth 13d ago

Slav squat. Only opponent is the Asian sqaut.

Used to see the islanders sitting on the pier when we pulled our ship in. Every time, without fail, there would be 10 men squatting on the pier smoking.

8

u/PICAXO 13d ago

Slav squat. Only opponent is the Asian sqaut.

So there is a difference?

5

u/alienccccombobreaker 12d ago

One can drink without going red

19

u/araeld 13d ago

Is it a Slav squat or a Russian squat? I thought this was a pan-Slavic thing.

9

u/osdeverYT 13d ago

It’s Pan-Slavic but originated during the Russian Empire, IIRC

14

u/AraAraSenpai6969 13d ago

I think people of this thread were talking about the fake Russian squat and actual Russian squat

17

u/Activision19 13d ago

Pretty sure a US spy got caught by the Soviets because he would switch hands with his knife and fork American style as opposed to using his knife in his right hand and fork in his left European style. So I wouldn’t be surprised if not being able to Slav squat would raise suspicions if they already suspected a western spy somewhere.

Why is kissing babies a thing? Who wants their baby to be kissed by a stranger that's in crowds and kissing other babies all the time? Doesn't sound very higyenic.

161

u/abstractConceptName 13d ago

the practice "is designed to suggest that the candidate is stable and trustworthy"

You wouldn't hand the most important thing in the world to you, to a psychopath, would you?

142

u/MeDaddyAss 13d ago

People in leadership positions are 20 times more likely to be a psychopath than the general public. You’re better off handing your baby to a rando on the street than a Presidential candidate.

49

Well that's exactly why it's necessary to publicly "prove" they're not psychopaths, to our emotional monkey brains.

720

u/bluetridentleics 13d ago

495

u/plaidverb 13d ago

I’m not saying he isn’t, but the gene for male pattern baldness is carried on the X chromosome, so this doesn’t really constitute any kind of “proof”.

Fun tip: if you want to get a look at your future hairline, look at your mother’s brother.

72

u/BeenThereDoneThatX4 13d ago

"One popular myth is that hair loss in men is passed down from the mother's side of the family while hair loss in women is passed down from the father's side; however, the truth is that the genes for hair loss and hair loss itself are actually passed down from both sides of the family."

There are other causes of baldness; I’m merely talking about the most common one.

23

u/Max_Super_stickman 13d ago

The most common one: you just ask for bald in a haircut place

12

u/NightlyMuses 13d ago

I know you probably temporarily blanked, but it’s either hair salon or barbershop.

10

u/Max_Super_stickman 13d ago

I ment both, both are haircut places right?

Well thats just great. My dad’s family is full of full heads of hair. My mum’s brother went bald in his 20s.

8

u/FotographicFrenchFry 13d ago

Oh hell yeah I’m going to do just fine then 🤙

23

u/Raw_shrimp 13d ago

This is anecdotal but my dad was bald by like 19. Around 20 I started losing hair and figured I’d be completely by age 21. I’m approaching 29 and still have hair and it almost directly matches my moms dad and brother

7

u/Intrepid_Egg_7722 13d ago

A lot of men lose hair in their 20s around the temples (gives you the triangles at the corners). If it keeps going past the little triangles or if it starts to thin out in the back ..that's when we call it balding.

6

u/fardough 13d ago

Well shit, he has no hair, skin, or a heartbeat at this point.

7

u/ItsPiskieNotPixie 13d ago

So that means men can only get it from their mother's side? So the incredibly early baldness from Harry and William is from Diana's family, even though Charles and Phillip had it and Diana's family didn't exhibit it?

That seems... unlikely.

I started shaving my head when I was a lot younger than him. He is a good looking fella, he shouldn't just shave it of and focus on the beard instead.

45

u/BlackedOutDrunk412 13d ago

Or he can, ya know, just wear it how he likes it.

10

u/Reutermo 13d ago edited 13d ago

Of course, that is the option everyone should go with. But as a bald guy, and having many friends who have been in the same position, it usually is much harder to be balding than to actually be bald. You try to convince yourself that it don't show "that much", and so on. But it is his body, his decisions.

15

u/BlackedOutDrunk412 13d ago

I just find this strange fascination with other men’s hair people on the internet have ridiculous. From Lebron to a fucking Prince, people on the internet love being chatty pattys about other men’s hair. I didn’t even notice this dudes hair when I looked at the photo until I came to the comments and read like 90 percent of the top comments being about it. Fucking weirdos, if you ask me.

No man should be pressured into shaving his head if he doesn’t want to just because some weirdos on the internet are obsessed with it.

Not talking about you.

3

u/ResolverOshawott 13d ago

Part of me feels like people love pushing balding men to shave their hair because of the fact seeing a balding man reminds them that they could be balding soon as well.
