Well deserved. Quincy Jones went from doing jazz arrangements (Frank Sinatra Live at the Sands) to producing the best selling pop album of all time. Amazing.
53
u/chrishnrh57 Jan 27 '23
Not best selling pop album. Best selling album, period. And second best really isn't close. Crazy.
4
u/louloc Jan 27 '23
Actually, second best is pretty close. The top 3 albums changed order several times for many years. The other two were: Hotel California by the Eagles and The Eagles: Their Greatest Hits.
16
u/Brown_Panther- Jan 27 '23
Are you talking about US sales or the global one? Because Thriller has been at the top of global sales since the last 4 decades.
33
u/No-Cardiologist-8146 Jan 27 '23

"Making it"? I'm pretty sure it's been the biggest selling album of all time for quite a while now.

I find it ironic that he says a pictures worth a thousand words in the video but the guy won’t shut up the whole time.

And still no tribute to its 40yrs thriller album... Michael is still and always will be a KING.

6
u/Kcidobor Jan 27 '23
Who is the guy? Does he have anything to do with the success of the album?
7
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
John Branca, he’s an entrainment lawyer. He’s the co founder of the Michael Jackson estate after MJ died.
7
u/StreetSmartsGaming Jan 27 '23
Yea but when will it be time to clear his name the parents of the kid that accused him had also accused multiple other people of the same thing. He agreed to just pay them to make it go away and has been condemned for it. We all know he was a weird mf but the evidence seems pretty clear he's not a pedo unless there's some new info I'm missing.
6
5
u/PmMeYourPussy Jan 27 '23
Weirdly, wikipedia says 70m albums sold with 50m verified, not 100m.
7
u/steksauce Jan 27 '23
Before ‘91 charts and sales were based on how many albums were shipped, which was easily manipulated by the labels, and by calling record stores to see what their sales numbers were. Not an exact science. In ‘91 the Billboard charts started using Soundscan which counted the barcode for each album sold. I haven’t bought an album in at least a decade plus, so I think for a short time the sales were closer to being the real number.

And she's admitted several times they never slept together, Jackson never slept with any of his paid for brides. Just publicity stunts So people thought he like women

He was chemically castrated as a child. So he had 0 sex hormones in his body.
Why do you think he had such a high voice most of his adult life?
Michael did like women there’s a video of him in a car pointing out that he saw a woman with big jugs it was pretty funny lol
3
u/accountmadeforthebin Jan 27 '23
That was something Dr Murray said and was never confirmed, actually more labelled as conspiracy theory.
1
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
Michael was a great father, Paris said Michael would have a ‘Books for Currency’ rule if Paris and her 2 brothers read lets say 5 books and that Michael would Quiz them on the books. Fantastic parenting
His son said Michael loved Pranks too he’d prank his kids and then chase them, such an amazing dad he was
2

u/eightmag Jan 27 '23
Everything about MJ is just sad now. All the stuff that came out about his childhood and father. Its more like theres no magic about it anymore and just memories of abuse.

8
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23 edited Jan 27 '23
Michael wasn’t a pedophile.
There are inconsistencies in the cases that prove he wasn’t.
Leaving Neverland was scripted.
Brett Barnes was friends with Michael when he was 13, and was not molested and Defends Michael to this very day. If Michael ‘molested’ those kids why hasn’t Brett came forward?
Jordan Chandler was drugged by his dad and manipulated and given an Amytal drug to say Michael did things to him. There’s an audio recording of Evan plotting to Ruin Michael’s life with Allegations
Michael was planning to not hang out with children anymore when his family told him not to, until he met Gavin. Gavin was a child who had Cancer. And Michael took him in and cared for him. Eventually Gavin beat cancer and lied to Michael about still having it. And you defend a person who lies about still having cancer? Shame on you

The FBI chief investigator said 'We found nothing in Mr Jackson's house and my conclusion is that Mr Jackson is INNOCENT and that they set him up.'
For future reference, there’s this website called Google where you can search for things like this.
3
u/hsbryda Jan 27 '23
What’s crazy is your getting downvoted for this and it doesn’t make any sense when the evidence that he is innocent is right there lol
1
u/threezee Jan 27 '23
Right??
It is crazy, but it’s not surprising. People have a very hard time changing their minds, even in the face of clear evidence, and there’s nowhere in the world that this is more true than here on Reddit.
3
u/VRiggity Jan 27 '23
Sigh…
The FBI didn’t investigate him, they just provided technical assistance.
Also there is no mention of “they set him up” from a chief investigator in your link.
For future reference, when you Google something, Google actually gives you multiple links. You can click on those too instead of just the first result.
Also, for an extra pro tip: you should actually read the articles you share.
0
u/threezee Jan 28 '23
If you read the link I posted to fbi.gov, you’d see that the FBI actually did have him under surveillance for over a decade.
The FBI says they did, it’s in the link I posted, along with so many other sources I could post that you also won’t read. Like this one, which says:
“THE FBI MONITORED JACKSON FOR MORE THAN A DECADE, but the files contain no major revelations about his private life and the bureau apparently never developed any solid evidence against him.”

Both pieces of content seem to have merit but sometimes you just have that feeling and it won’t go away. Look at MJ really, he was always a performer so he could hide his feelings a lot, but as we all came to see, he was a very troubled soul.
1
u/threezee 16d ago
I totally agree, I understand why there are people who feel that he’s guilty. But I also feel very strongly that, when you take time to look deeper at things, you see that it was just a series of families making false claims to make a quick buck.
He was definitely a tortured soul, but many of us are and that doesn’t make any of us a child molester.

Everyone seems to love Michael Jackson very much, but most of you weren't around in the 90s when his troubles began. Even if he wasn't guilty of the charges against him, some of the stuff he readily admitted to would make you want to puke.
Nonetheless, this is reddit, where you have to like him even if you never heard his music --just because everyone does--, and because you want to belong with the crowd.

12
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
He didn’t
-2
u/SmashTagLives Jan 27 '23
Really? Well damnit, you need to get the word out!
So many people are confused about why he took children on tour and slept in bed with them, and why he paid all those families millions of dollars in hush money after being accused of raping their kids!
But you seem to know something I don’t, so spread the word!
12
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
Michael’s nephew Taj confirmed that whenever Michael was in bed with the children it was a slumber party where Michael’s kids, kids parents, the kids, Michael’s nephews would all watch movies together
Mac Culkin said Michael’s bedroom was the size of 3 football fields and had like 7 beds in it.
An FBI agent, confirmed that he saw No Predatory behaviour In Michael
0
u/SmashTagLives Jan 27 '23
Oh his nephew Taj? His nephew Taj?
A grown man sleeping with children and tami g them on tour is beyond sketchy. Also “An FBI agent” you say? Can I get a source on this agent? Or is that his nephew Taj as well.
He fucked kids
5
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
Clearly you know nothing about Michael Jackson’s dating life.
He was in relationships with Whitney Houston, Brooke Shields, Lisa Marie (RIP), Debbie Rowe, etc
He didn’t.
4
u/SmashTagLives Jan 27 '23
Oh yeah. Those weren’t sham relationships at all!
Nothing says “ladies man” like having to have your jizz extracted and implanted artificially.
Remember when he dangled his baby from a balcony? Defend that shit

4
u/SmashTagLives Jan 27 '23

3
u/threezee Jan 27 '23
The FBI released his files a few years ago, they had him under extreme surveillance for ten years and never found anything to suggest that he ever did anything to a child.
3
u/SmashTagLives Jan 27 '23
Yeah I guess he just likes to pay people millions of dollars for not raping their kids.
2
u/threezee Jan 27 '23
Having as much money as he had, it was a lot easier to just pay people to make them go away vs going to court every time. Oh yeah, and then when he did go to court he was found not guilty.
Also, the FBI chief investigator said 'We found nothing in Mr Jackson's house and my conclusion is that Mr Jackson is INNOCENT and that they set him up.' They had him under surveillance for over a decade, they would have known about anything he was doing, being the FBI and all.
https://vault.fbi.gov/Michael%20Jackson
But you’re probably still going to believe what you want, evidence doesn’t mean much around here.
2
u/SmashTagLives Jan 28 '23
Those aren’t facts. That is conjecture. These are the facts: Michael Jackson took young children around the world on tour with him. He paid for their parents to come, on the condition the children be allowed to sleep in his bed alone.
He was a grown man, sleeping with little boys. This is a fact.
You know what else money can buy? FBI agents. After all, are you going to trust a guy that works for the system that is apparently trying to set him up?
Also, are you a parent? Do you have any young siblings or nephews or cousins? And if so, would you be 100% chill with letting them sleep in the bed of an adult man? Or just a famous one
1
u/threezee Jan 28 '23
Ok you’re right, he probably bought the FBI.
It’s not conjecture that local and federal law enforcement was surveilling him for over a decade, that’s a fact. If he was raping kids, they would have know me about it. It wasn’t one or two people watching him, it was tons of police and FBI agents over a ten year period, you really think they saw him raping children and not one of them has come forward? That’s a very dark view you have of humanity and our police forces and federal agents.
You know what else is a fact? There was never any evidence to substantiate the claims that he molested children, ever. No evidence.
Another fact, he was found not guilty on all counts in court.
I don’t know why you’re holding on to these unsubstantiated claims that have never been proven, claims that were directly negated and disproven by police, the FBI and the justice system. but what I do know is you’re not going to change your mind no matter what, so there’s no reason to go back and forth with you.
2
u/SmashTagLives Jan 28 '23
You conveniently ignored my question of if you would be cool with letting your kids or family members sleep in the bed alone with an adult male.
1
u/threezee Jan 28 '23
Because that question is completely irrelevant to the discussion.

He was innocent, he’s kicking it with Lisa & Elvis in heaven, he was a Jehovah’s Witness in his early years
0

Innocent of what? Being chester? Way to much evidence, self incrimination, and payoffs to convince me otherwise.
6
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23 edited Jan 27 '23
Michael had to pay Evan Chandler.
He was being forced to.
There’s too many inconsistencies in the kids stories. Michael Will always be the greatest artist of all time and there isn’t a single artist today who can keep up with him.
Michael was a major victim. Of Racism by the media, being manipulated by families, screwed over by Sony.
People calling him ‘Wacko Jacko’ which is an extremely racist term that goes back to the 1800-1700s to ‘The Dancing Monkey’
If you have kids or ever have kids and you force them to hate Michael Jackson then you’re a bad parent, I learned about the allegations on my own and formed my own opinion. When my mother found out I liked MJ she did not force me to hate him.
She actually took me to go see this is it, after Michael passed away.
1
u/xlmarinexl Jan 27 '23
You can do a quick search and come up with a lot more names than 1. If one person called you an asshole, eehhh, maybe you guys have your differences. If 2 people do, maybe you had a bad day. You start getting up around 10 or more people calling you an asshole, I got news for you, you’re fucking asshole. This is exactly the case with this piece of shit. Save that shit for someone else. And if you’re telling me it’s perfectly normal and nothing happened when he had all theses 12 and 13yr olds sleeping in his bed with him at his house, you’re part of the problem yourself.
3
u/typicalking97 Jan 27 '23
In a Michael Jackson documentary a close friend of Michael’s said one of the kids asked Michael ‘Can I stay over’ and he said Michael replied ‘You better ask your parents first’
2
u/xlmarinexl Jan 27 '23
Oh well, that makes child molestation ok then. Why didn’t you just say so. Next time I arrest someone, I will just see if they have a note from their mother first.
2
2
u/No_Journalist5846 Jan 28 '23
This makes zero sense. R Kelly was all buddy buddy with the parents of his victims, and he was as sick a bastard as any other who charmed parents into complacency. Mike asked for permission? The biggest artist in history, whom you adore, asks if your kid can have a sleepover? Well, duh they say yes. Mike was either the world's oldest prepubescent child, or a predator. Take your pick. Both are fucking creepy, honestly

If you do surface level research and watch well produced hit pieces on the subject, yea sure fuck Michael Jackson.
If you actually look at what happened, it’s clear that he was the victim of false allegations in an attempt to blackmail/extort him.
To be clear, I didn’t grow up with MJ the pop star. He was always MJ the Pedo growing up. When I decided to actually look into the allegations, I, like many others who have done research on the allegations, realized that what happened to MJ was nothing short of disgusting.
