Love seeing the closest player, forming a hoop with her arms both for receiving, and sending the shuttle back. Skillful!

u/Fly-me-to-joe Jan 29 '23

I could not even kick one of these back.

2

u/Llamatook 27d ago

Agreed. High praise

1

u/Right_Wrangler6635 8d ago

Probably helps her line up the kick

24

u/Majestic-Newspaper59 Jan 27 '23

What kind of ball are they using

38

u/Dry-Marsupial-2922 Jan 27 '23

24

u/Majestic-Newspaper59 Jan 27 '23

I wonder if it’s easier to kick then a hacky sack

16

u/Ok-Disk-2191 Jan 27 '23

Once you get used to these things it's actually much easier to hit them. The best way I can explain it is, they kind of slow down a little because of the feathers.

3

u/31415926x Jan 27 '23

Playing đá cầu (the vietnamese name for this game) for a few years, hacky sack was fairly easy after trying it recently, feels pretty much the same. More control with the hacky sack, but its easier to kick the đá cầu over long distance

3

u/Love4KittyButtholes Jan 27 '23

We used to make them as children using a heavy coin (size of a quarter or nickle) and plastic parcel rope

1

u/Dry-Marsupial-2922 Jan 27 '23

Yeah that's the OG way

1

u/Efficient_Elk_7991 Jan 27 '23

It’s a sack filled with rice liek a mini bean bag

22

u/Ri8ley Jan 27 '23

Isn't this same as hacky sack?

48

u/PapaChoff Jan 27 '23 Bravo Grande!

No, these people shower

5

u/FuckingNoise Jan 27 '23

You can't prove that

10

u/PCSean Jan 27 '23

Similar.

The principal is the same but the object itself is quite different. It has a spring base to lift off from the kick and feathers or wings to guide it straight through the air

2

u/Ri8ley Jan 27 '23

Aah. Thank you for the insight. Must go check it out. We played endless hacky sack at school.

12

u/c_c_c__combobreaker Jan 27 '23

Hacky Sack level: ASIAN

2

u/PhasmicPlays Jan 27 '23

Asian difficulty unlocked

11

u/KuhLealKhaos Jan 27 '23

This is like super intense backside hacky sack. I can't even play regular hacky sack. Insane

1

u/31415926x Jan 27 '23

There are typically a lot of different moves in this game, the behind the back one is considered the hardest none trickshot

8

u/akayataya Jan 27 '23 Take My Energy

I hit a hackey sack like 5 times once in middle school

7

u/JustADutchFirefighte Jan 27 '23

Is she wearing 1 shoe and 1 sandal?

4

u/Practical-Ad-3073 Jan 27 '23

I guess if you start with 2 sandals you end up with 1 sandal and a law suit

6

u/GrandeOui Jan 27 '23

she takes the piss by putting her hands together like that before it’s launched. they must have been doing this for years to get that good.

3

u/Superventilator Jan 27 '23

This looks like freestyle footbag (an American game)

-3

u/possiblyai Jan 27 '23

Yes america which has only existed for 245 years - must have be an American game clearly /s

11

u/Superventilator Jan 27 '23

I said it looks like the American game - I simply spotted a similarity.

Why does internet discussion always have to be like this...

8

u/PM_Me_OCs Jan 27 '23

My friend likes to say that if you go on Reddit and say that you like pancakes, someone will take that to mean that you must hate waffles.

2

u/Superventilator Jan 27 '23

I'm European so definitely not in the "Americans invented everything" category. Just made an observation comparing it to the game I was already familiar with.

3

u/Professional-Ad3101 Jan 27 '23

Don't make the mistake of labeling. One American does not define us all... He's just a sarcastic smartass , rebel without a cause

1

u/possiblyai Jan 27 '23

Was taking the piss hence the /s don’t worry I won’t accuse you of reverse cultural appropriation

2

u/nexarr Jan 27 '23

Not fake and not gay

2

u/PapaChoff Jan 27 '23

I could watch her all day

2

u/-Captain_Chaos- Jan 27 '23

She is intoxicatingly beautiful and I don’t exactly know why.

1

u/Jason_Batemans_Hair Jan 27 '23

Why don't you have a seat over there.

1

u/MrMango34 Jan 27 '23

B U I L T D I F F E R E N T

1

u/Trakinass Jan 27 '23

ITT: americans shocked saying what kind of hacky sack is that

1

u/amitx0x Jan 27 '23

Amazing

1

u/Dennyposts Jan 27 '23

Is it an alpha version of ping pong? No wonder ypu can still play pong with flip flops - built in backwards compatibility.

1

u/rock-hound Jan 27 '23

Oh yeah? Well, I once broke my ankle playing hackey-sack...

0

u/MisterT-88 Jan 27 '23

Badminton with extra steps

1

u/Frozenrain76 Jan 27 '23

I could not even kick one of these back remotely in the right direction. And I would injure myself somehow

1

u/louloc Jan 27 '23

I got a cramp in my hammy watching this. 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/PCSean Jan 27 '23

See this game played in Cambodia often

1

u/Springer1a Jan 27 '23

So is anyone gonna actually go for the kill shot?

1

u/Initial_Water_9625 Jan 27 '23

The American version of this would be called hacky sack look it up

1

u/roderunner1 Jan 27 '23

My Meniscus says No! 😂

1

u/evmeowmeow Jan 27 '23

I will never be this good at anything.

1

u/Practical_Mess_7204 Jan 27 '23

Does she have a clubbed foot?

1

u/siegfred7 Jan 27 '23

In the Philippines this is called takyan, you can actually make one with candy wrappers and washers.

1

u/linhromsp Jan 27 '23

FYI this is in Vietnam. Used to be very popular 30 years or so ago when i was in school. These kids bring back for fun

1

u/No_Fix_9153 Jan 27 '23

“Kikaball” is a great Chinese game, I play it all the time.

1

u/icky_boo Jan 27 '23

That's Vietnam.

1

u/dizziefrizzie Jan 27 '23

Kinda like hacky sack

1

u/Mazakashi7 Jan 27 '23

1

u/AffectionateBear2462 Jan 27 '23

1

u/Vitalsignx Jan 27 '23

Hackey Sack is an old Chinese game?

1

u/evilspeaks Jan 27 '23

Hacky sack skill set Chinese.

1

u/FunStuff446 Jan 27 '23

Chinese hacky sack

1

u/coma24 Jan 27 '23

did this twice during a hacky sack game many years ago as a last ditch move, thought it was a rare thing. Now I see there are people who do nothing BUT that. Got it.

1

u/CoffeeSnob7882 Jan 27 '23

So effortless

1

u/dborger Jan 27 '23

When I (From the US) went to Beijing there were a bunch of 50-70 year old women in the park doing this. They invited my wife and I to play and we said, “no thanks.” Inside I was thinking that there was no way my confidence could handle getting schooled by these women who were 30 years older than me.

1

u/Comprehensive_Bed84 Jan 27 '23

Hum looks like bad mitten and hacky sack

1

u/Dubcekification Jan 27 '23

Long distance hacky sack?

1

u/Alarmed_Edge_2693 Jan 27 '23

Hackie sack in the back is called backie sack

1

u/beraleh Jan 27 '23

It's interesting to watch the woman in this game because she gives a us a clue about how you practice for it. She seems to create a hoop over her head with her arms through which ball passes and that's how she calculates where her foot needs to be. The man across from here is seemingly more seasoned and no longer needs the aid of his arms.

1

u/Odd-Replacement-2128 Jan 27 '23

I don't understand. How? Lol this is so casual and no one is impressed in the video haha

1

u/Ijustlovevideogames Jan 27 '23

So Shaolin Soccer is based off a real thing, got it

1

u/Delgim Jan 28 '23

The atmosphere is life. All I do is sit at home and watch TV. Ugh

1

u/mikeorhizzae Jan 28 '23

Hacky sack?

1

u/cantamangetsomesleep Jan 28 '23

This looks like advanced hacky sack

1

u/golfman3217 Jan 28 '23

She is smokin 🔥

1

u/crazytoothpaste Jan 28 '23

She looks so grateful

1

u/iatecurryatlunch Jan 28 '23

She's wife material

1

u/iatecurryatlunch Jan 28 '23

So Asian women are terrible drivers but they can do this. What?? Before a mod bans me, I'm Asian, I'm allowed to say things about myself

1

u/Taboo_Decimal Jan 28 '23

:/ y’all don’t play marbles

1

u/-ansr Jan 28 '23

This looks so fun.. I want to do it all day long with someone who also want to do it all day long, on a beach somewhere warm.. Probably takes damn long to learn though

1

u/Liverpoolxiii13 Feb 01 '23

I’m in love

1

u/Itchy-Ambassador6903 Feb 01 '23

And here I am wearing Velcro shoes...😅

1

u/samf9999 Feb 02 '23

Kick back in life, they said

1

u/sharkattack85 Feb 02 '23

It’s also quite popular in Cambodia.

1

u/lryan926 Feb 03 '23

You know it's serious when you see the special shoe they wear on their kicking foot.

1

u/Misty60688 Feb 04 '23

Fuck china

1

u/KiraDog0828 Feb 08 '23

For anyone interested, it’s crucial to one’s ability to control a hacky sack that it be well broken in. Woven cloth sacks are better about this, but the leather and faux leather versions are awful until they’re broken in. You can accelerate the process by thoroughly rubbing an oil like Neatsfoot oil—or whatever they use on baseball gloves these days— into the leather to stretch and soften it. Rolling the sack across the floor under your foot while applying pressure works well Just be careful if the floor is slick. Concrete seems to work we’ll .

1

u/Quirky-Front5532 Feb 12 '23

They are flawless at connecting in this game. Yet get them behind a wheel of a car, total disaster

1

u/you6me9 Feb 16 '23

It’s all in the arms!

1

u/bubzy1000 Feb 19 '23

California games wants your location

1

u/dissjsjs 13d ago

Backy sack.

1

u/Galdin311 11d ago

Wait. Didn't we do this in the late 90s

1

u/Rob0tsmasher 11d ago

Odd Chinese game? No. This is just Hacky Sack with the difficulty turned to Asian.

1

u/Wizzlemane26 11d ago

Looks like they have a specialized shoe on the kicking foot?

-1

u/Lonely_Positive9515 Jan 27 '23

Asian girls are so fucking hot, even when you can't see them from the front.
