Info Overview of new Scarlet/Violet information from the latest trailer! (October 6, 2022)

Jump into a Paldean Journey | Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

New Pokémon Revealed: Farigiraf

Introducing the TM Machine, a Handy Device That Can Make TMs!

  • A Technical Machine (or TM for short) is a tool that allows Pokémon to learn new moves. In these titles, there is a piece of equipment installed at every Pokémon Center called a TM Machine, which allows Trainers to make their own TMs.

  • TMs can be made using League Points (LP for short) and materials dropped by wild Pokémon after battle. LP can be obtained as you advance the story or by trading in materials from Pokémon. Find moves you want your Pokémon to learn at the TM Machine and try making a TM! The selection of TMs available for you to make grows as you continue your adventure. A single TM can only be used once, but if you have enough LP and the right materials from Pokémon, you can make as many as you like using the TM Machine. Think carefully about what moves you want to have your Pokémon learn to expand your strategic arsenal.

Have a Picnic!

  • You can have picnics almost anywhere when out exploring the region’s vast wildernesses. Picnics allow you to spend leisure time with your Pokémon, and you can change the designs of the tablecloth, cups, water bottles, and other picnic items to create an arrangement of your liking.

  • When you start a picnic, your party Pokémon, as well as the Legendary Pokémon accompanying you—either Koraidon or Miraidon—will come out and gather around!

  • You can choose your favorite filters and take photos during picnics or while you’re out exploring. Filters are a great way to add a trendy flair to your photos.

Decide What Kind of Sandwich You’ll Make!

  • You can make all kinds of sandwiches at a picnic. Before you begin making your sandwich, you’ll choose which fillings and condiments you want to use, as well as a sandwich pick that’ll help hold it all together! Once you’re ready, you’ll arrange the ingredients on your bread, stacking them carefully. If you don’t balance them properly, you might accidentally cause your ingredients to topple over or fall off the bread entirely. Arrange them skilfully, though, and you just might create a culinary masterpiece!

  • When your Pokémon eat sandwiches, not only will their HP be restored, but the meal may impart some effects that will come in handy on your adventures! Try making all sorts of sandwiches in all sorts of ways—mix ingredients to achieve unique flavors, try to create something visually striking, or simply use as many ingredients as possible and stack them as high as you can!

Become Great Friends with Lots of Pokémon!

  • During a picnic, your Pokémon will spend their time as they please. You can speak to your Pokémon one-on-one or use toys to play with them—spend time together and strengthen your bonds! When you have picnics with your Pokémon, you may also find a Pokémon Egg!

Give Your Pokémon a Good Scrub!

  • In these titles, having your Pokémon walk alongside you or battle can cause them to get grimy and dirty. By washing your Pokémon at a picnic, not only will they get clean, but their HP will be restored and their bond with you will become stronger.

  • Your Pokémon can get covered in mud from the roadsides, snow from snowstorms, and sand from sandstorms. In addition to weather phenomena or environmental factors like these, Pokémon may also get dirty from taking damage in battles. Scrub your Pokémon with a soapy sponge, give them a good rinse with water, and shower them with appreciation for their hard work.

Picnics Become Even Livelier When Playing with Friends!

  • You can also enjoy picnics with friends while playing together through the Union Circle. Simply approach another player’s picnic while you’re playing together with friends to have you and your Pokémon join. You can take a group photo or make sandwiches together with up to three other friends, making a picnic an even livelier occasion—you may even find a Pokémon Egg while you and your friends’ Pokémon are playing together!

Discussion The 3FPS Sunflora/Windmill/Town run at 30fps in the Japanese trailer; only the UK/US trailers messed that up for some reason.

I've seen a lot of people getting up in arms over this and I wanted to clear it up rather than having it buried in one of the many threads that we've had so far over the trailer.

As a side; personally I think it looks great. There's a lot to enjoy so far and it gives more credence to the spoilers (which I won't repreat but I was very hopeful for).

Discussion Another Hidden Pokémon in the Trailer (Pre-evolution?)

At 4:07 mark in the new trailer, you can see a short humanoid-like Pokémon at distance. It looks similar to Armarouge and Ceruledge. Could it be a pre-evolution?

Discussion / Venting Can we all admit that that Johto/Gen 2 introduced alot of unrealized unfinished Pokemon

When you really look at the johto region roster, so many of the Pokemon in Johto had untapped potential!!

Aipom, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Gligar, Sneasel, Piloswine, Girafarig, Yanma etc.

Its like what were they thinking in terms of making a pokemon and just stopping half-way lol

...but honestly, it just makes it more hype when one of them gets an evolution later down the line.

Honchkrow, Yanmega, Ambipom, Mamoswine, Gliscor and now the newly FARIGIRAF!

Design-wise have become even cooler and even cuter! lol

I'm so excited for potential future mons and their evolution:

All I personal want is a Regional form of Chinchou and Lanturn; Dark/Electric

and gets a new evolution on top of that, that makes it an even scarier Anglerfish! Please let this happen!!

Discussion I'm actually excited for this new Pokemon game. Haven't felt like this since B/W 2.

I was thoroughly disappointed with S/M, USUM, and don't get me started on SwSh. BDSP was not up to par either, imo.

But after watching the trailer that just dropped. Holy crap..physics in sandwich making? The facial customization options? My boy girafarig finally got an evolution, and damn was justice done here. That design is top notch. I'm still not a big fan of the legendaries design for riding (Why design wheels on koraidon if its just gonna dangle between its legs while it runs? Maybe I'm just being picky). But yo..everything else, I'm being hopeful. So hopeful. I dont hate this gimmick either, much better than ''pokemanz turn big hurr durr''. This game actually looks like its going to be fun.

That is all. Just had to rant. I'm hyped, and I haven't been this hyped for a long time.

Discussion What the heck happened when they brought the trailer to the west: lower quality, new Pokemon and even montage errors

Basically what I said in the title.

If you already watched the new trailer, go watch the japanese one

The frame rate is better, new Pokémon accidentally revealed through the mini map when entering the grass city are gone, in the western version the paldean wooper shown in the pick nick becomes a regular wooper after eating the sandwich

What the hell happened in the production line?

Discussion Pokémon SV will be great

The new trailer this morning only confirmed what I’ve felt all year. This game is going to be fantastic. We finally get a look at some of the gameplay and mechanics and you can just see how good this game really is going to be. It’s so exciting to see GF bounce back after SWSH. USUM are my favorite games because of the mechanics and gameplay, and it seems like that brought some aspects of that back and so much more! Only 43 days left to go and I’m only getting more hyped with every trailer and I hope everyone else is as well!

Discussion Personal + and - points from the new trailer

  • Let's go feature more in depth look
  • Terra types in the wild
  • Crafting? TM's anyway and collecting materials with let's go feature.
  • Lots of character customization and camera mode!
  • Girafaric evolution

  • Going back to "static" Pokémon battles after having experienced the freedom of legends arceus.

  • Pokémon models and animations compared to legends arceus.

  • Performance and look of the game (I said the same thing about legends arceus but wasn't too big of a deal breaker in the end).

Overall still pretty hyped! But disappointed that there isn't more legends arceus style crossover when it comes to the mechanics. I would like to hear your thoughts as well!
