New Enforcement of Rules
Our current method of enforcing rules doesn’t seem to be working so we are implementing a new system.
The most common rule broken on the sub is rule 1: post is not suspiciouslyspecific. These types of posts have been getting to the front page of the sub daily. No matter how many we remove, it seems 5 more take their place within a few hours. To deal with this, we are going to be ramping up repercussions that break that rule and the others listed in the side bar. Most of you who post and frequent this sub will not be affected. The new system is to target repeat offenders.
OFFENSE SYSTEM
1st offense: warning
2nd offense: 2 day ban
3rd offense: 10 day ban
4th offense: permaban
We are also pinning a gallery of example posts that do and do not break rule 1 to help clear up what is and is not suspiciously specific. People who decide to post without first looking through them do so at their own risk.
SPAM SYSTEM
In an effort to curb spam, we are including a gallery of blatant rule breaking posts. This will use a separate system of strikes:
1st offense: 36-72 hour ban
2nd offense: permaban
One last thing, mods are people too and we don’t appreciate being harassed about post removals over dm. If you genuinely have a question about a removal, USE MODMAIL. If you don’t know how modmail works, Google it! If you believe the mod made a mistake with the removal, the mod team can look over your post and decide to approve it. Saying that a post has x amount of upvotes or n amount of comments is not a valid argument.
